Image-Based Scoring
DRC’s dynamic Image Scoring System is a highly accurate and efficient way for readers to score items online, eliminating the routing of paper assessments. Our nine image scanners provide a combined throughput of over six million sheets per week.

This system provides our readers the ability to view images from multiple perspectives, such as zoomed in/out and image flipping or rotation, to accurately interpret students’ written responses. It also efficiently allows for on-demand retrieval of specified images. Images remain intact with the various viewing capabilities and are not able to be modified by the readers.

Our imaging system generates a number of reports to monitor the reader scoring. These reports are run daily so that valuable information is in the hands of the handscoring team as well as regularly available to our clients.

DRC’s Image Scoring System has enhanced the overall quality of the handscoring process by increasing workflow efficiencies through the reduction of paper routing and by eliminating the possibility of lost student answer documents.
