​Patty McDivitt
Senior Vice President, Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
With DRC Since 2002 

Ms. McDivitt oversees all phases of the item and test development process for K-12 large-scale assessment programs in content areas such as reading, English language arts, science, mathematics, and civics and government. In addition, she oversees the development of assessment ancillaries, including the development of curriculum units and lesson plans designed to link assessment results to instruction. Ms. McDivitt has over 25 years of direct “hands-on” educational curriculum, instruction, and assessment development experience, including experience in the development of assessments designed to link students’ results with postsecondary education and career decision-making. She is also an experienced professional development trainer and facilitator of teacher committees, including item writing committees, standards alignment review committees, curriculum review committees, content item and item/data review committees, bias, fairness, and sensitivity review committees, and committees responsible for the development of content curriculum standards and performance-level descriptors and standards. She holds an Master of Science in Education Guidance and Counseling and Secondary Teaching in English Language Arts, and a Bachelor of Science in Education English Language Arts, both degrees are from Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana.
